About the Rusu’s
In 2022, we relocated from California to North Carolina, settling on a 7.5-acre homestead to begin a new chapter more closely aligned with our values. We chose to step away from the fast pace of modern life in pursuit of a slower, more intentional way of living. Life in the countryside has allowed us to create a home that is meaningful, abundant, and deeply connected to the land. Our vision is to cultivate a peaceful, regenerative farm grounded in sustainability, biodiversity, and organic practices while offering hospitality and a sense of home to anyone who visits.
Our main focuses on Saint Basil Farm
- Regenerative gardening
- Happy pasture-raised chickens
- Heritage apple & peach orchard
- Berry bushes, foraging & medicinal herbs
- Fishing & enjoying the pond (stocked with perch and bass)
- Our two friendly cats
- Airbnb Cottage Rental and farmstay experiences
- Selling speciality & medicinal loose leaf teas, tinctures, sourdough bread and other farm products at farmer’s markets, local stores, and our online farm shop
- Building projects & woodworking
Thanks for joining us on the journey!
Olympia & Ephraim
